Heat Treated Wood
Derived from a process developped in Finland, heat treated wood offers interesting features that weren't available with traditional wood until now. This astoundingly coloured wood is exclusive to Dimensions Doors.
Requiring only heat and moisture, this wood is 100% environment-friendly compared to treated wood. The drying process of densified wood requires much more heat, resulting in its burned wood aspect, without nonetheless reducing it to ashes ...
Wood is living matter which is altered according to temperature and humidity variations. As a result of this special treatment, all the wood's living cells are destroyed, therefore it will absorb much less moisture, making it an ideal material for an exterior or even an interior door.
Although traditional wood still has its place in the market, heat treated wood offers certain characteristics that make it ideal for door fabrication

Heat treated wood species available in our price list are knotty white pine and aspen (very hard and heavy).

Sliding Patio Doors
Entirely manufactured on our premises, this new solid wood sliding patio door is one of our greatest achievements of 2006.
Laboratory-tested, it exceeds all present quality standards of the market. This door will give you a panoramic view of your surroundings and will provide superior protection against the cold. Its massive appearance, ease of operation and superior finish will astonish everyone. All our 2 1/4" door models fit in our sliding patio door, offering a different aspect. For example, model 706 instead of the standard 500 model.
The system is both simple and efficient: when you turn the handle downward, the ball-bearing carriages lift the door in order to reduce friction ?and ensure proper gliding. When the handle is turned upward, the door rests firmly on the sill in order to refrain its movement, compressing the ?upper and lower weatherstrip. When you want to lock the door, turn the handle downward and the heavy-duty multipoint locking system ?automatically locks to the frame.
All are available in our wide range of species. The dimensions of our sliding patio door are approximately the same as the standard ?dimensions available on the market.
